Does heavy lifting really stunt growth or is it all cope¿

Have been going to the gym a bit now and im proabably in my peak growth window rn.
Wanted to know if its real.

Obviously deadlifting 275 at 14 years old would probably have a significant impact on your growth, more likely with squatting very heavy.

But in reality, it's unlikely that a teenager manages to lift this much. There is no age limit or requirement when it comes to lifting but a young man should not risk his health attempting big compounds exercises. He should not try to replicate what he sees grown adults at the gym do. This should be a time of discovery, learning the basics and make sure he is under the guidance of a trusted mentor (brother, father, PE teacher...).
