yes it lightens lips if that's what you're looking for, but one problem, your lip area is sensitive and all so you may accidentally eat it, will probably irritate your lips a lot and hydroquinone (Everywhere not just lips) can cause insane rebound hyperpigmentation if not used correctly, so I'd be very careful
