Does maxillary expansion lower esr?

My palate is around 33–34 mm wide, and my tongue doesn’t fit properly even though it’s U-shaped. It also leaves marks on the sides of my tongue. I’m thinking about getting MARPE, but my orthodontist doesn’t seem very interested since I don’t have a crossbite or a V-shaped palate. My other question is does MARPE lower ESR? Since mine is already high. I’m also missing a molar due to an extraction I had when I was younger

It theoretically should, but in most cases shit doesnt change
