In combination with the tall radix a very projecting maxilla would look strange. So the caucasian maxillas lack projection. And I don't think a projecting maxilla matters as much as the projection of the mandible.
As for the cranium, all that really matters is the distance the tragus to the frontal bone. The maxilla matters little as the deciding factor behind looking good is the mandible.
