depends what u scam
What Khrome said is correct with some nuances.

What scale you scam at, coupled with your expertise of OpSec (operational security) and what specific target is being exerted onto. Those determine your consequences. You can get away with clicking, refunding, you certainly will not get away with a multi million pound operation, with entry level security.

Your name gets put on a watch list, and a case starts getting built, many months before you ever get your door kicked through. Search warrants take long to acquire, before they have that, you'll have many months of shit stacked up against you.

my friends do refunds for a few thousand a month, also rugpulling and selling fake concert tickets to guys on tinder they make around 10-20k a month n claim their opsec is too good to get caught

the obvious version of what i said:lul:

opsec is irrelivent - as someone with lots of experience in the field lmao, unless you're incredibly careful (to the point scamming is practically off the table), theres no difference in chance of getting caught. It all comes down to what extent of cost you're scamming the person out of.

small scale - fine
medium+ - varies

how is opsec irrelevant if u use like mules n monero while never using devices that trace to u, is that not borderline impossible to trace

Well, let me tell you a harsh fucking truth right here right now.

You said they claim their opsec is too good to get caught.

That's not true.

You know. The fact you, or anyone they know knows they're doing it, defeats the purpose of OpSec.

They're not on a large enough scale yet, but they're most likely on that very list I was talking to you about.

The people who do this professionally do not talk about it, ever, to anybody. They live 2 lives, a silent one, and a completely separate everyday life, with a normal job, normal people around them. Blending in. Except when you spin up their Tails VM.

Idiot.

This mentality is why entry-level criminals end up prison, and why notorious runners get to the point where they're funnelling millions via offshores.

I don't want to talk to you anymore. Do not bother replying to me.

most actual "opsec" can be backdoored, unless as i said you're a complete nerd and go down hardware routes, which you wouldnt be

Unless you go down hardware routes, no opsec (if you were actually doing something to warrant a search) is going to make much a difference

What scams can you even do online?

whats small scale, 20k a month reccuring?
Anything that would warrant a largescale search against you. Varying the scams you do to different people typically makes you less of a target - avoiding businesses / "important" people
What scams can you even do online?
Pretty much anything you can think of
selling fake shit
malware for info
rugpulling - bit more difficult tho jfl

they larp, or do something that little that police and gov has taxes to get instead of doing a whole aahh search for 10 bucks, but mostly larp
