Does taking potassium really work

I bought some to help debloat for special occasions or when I eat bunch of shit but I tell my friends it doesn’t really work I don’t see a difference I only feel weird when I take it like tingly hands and my friend takes it daily but I tell him surely he builds some sort of immunity to it and would have to take more for it to take a affect he’s been taking it for months now and disagrees with me
