Your Gujarati friend is correct, if u can be racially ambiguous and not look indian it's definitely an advantage because negative stereotypes won't be attached to you. An average Desi guy in the west won't be given the benefit of doubt by most women when he tries to date interracially. However, if you choose to not be average and hit the gym and get jacked + good fashion ull be in a lane of your own. I'm a darker skinned mallu guy with a Lebanese gf, incels would not believe that this combination exists because their so caught up on race. What you need to understand, is that you can win at an individual level if you put in the work. Desi guys experience in dating what black guys experience in the employment market. Negative preconceptions on us based on our race. Thus Desi guys pay the " Desi tax" in the dating market by compensating ( hitting the gym+ maximizing fashion, high income job) and black guys pay the "black tax" in the employment market ( dressing extra well, code switching so as to not be viewed as a thug, needs better credentials so ppl don't assume he's not smart)."
