drugs for depression

I am really depressed right now. I need something like anti depression drugs or something. I was thinking about take SSRIs but i heard it can fuck with your brain, is that really true or can i still take them. Or what drugs should i use instead.

I’ve taken Zoloft for years and it helps me

But I take it for anxiety

That has nothing to do with the evidence you must allegedly have, or did you indeed just hear it from TikTok and now you’re having a tantrum over being told evidence is required for claims?

No since I was a child I’ve never supported anti depressants and I’ll respond to your other comment in a bit

Every single anecdote I’ve found reported side effects which die down after long periods of time which will make you reliant as the induction time / freeloading for the drug to take maximum effect takes a week / multiple weeks. A lot of people report drugs to be ineffective or to have lost effect over time. Srris block the 5-HTT transporter which will cause common symptoms such as headaches drowsiness dizziness and fatigue and many more such as agitation and blurred vision. Taking it at a young age can lead to permanent changes in the Brains chemistry and cause behavioral defects which will stay with you for the rest of your life, your brain fully emotionally develops at the age of 25–30 so taking it before then will have a very bad effect on you. btw I drafted this up in 8 minutes I spent the other 10 proofreading it and verifying

Nice. Anecdotes. The worst piece of evidence. There’s anecdotes that Muhammad split the moon and rid a pony into heaven. No one said SSRIs are entirely effective, do you even know how these trials work? Look at any meta-analysis and you’ll note that positive effects are found in each one hence why they’re still used. Don’t bother replying.

Goon for 4hours a day and bust 6 times in total

Releases prolactin, gives you smth to do, loads of dopamine spikes, unironically made me get out of depression

drink a bottle of robotussin it will make you feel good make sure its the only active ingredient

Learning psychology helped my mental health a lot.
I'd recommend learning about brain chemistry, how depression is diagnosed and what it is aswell as different types of antidepressants and how they interact with your receptors.
Depression is quite literally just bad brain chemistry, in a loop.
The way to stop feeling it is emulating good brain chemistry with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), or to just sort your life out.
