the nasal aperture becomes larger with age, that creates the depression next to your nose, it's not as apparent in ethnics because they have larger noses, but almost all europeans have it regardless of whether they're forward grown or not because they've got small noses.

most people without nasolabial folds aren't particularly well developed, and those that are aren't always lacking them.

you can see the canine fossa recede on the same image, it's a younger skull compared to an older skull on the right, and both of these factors are variable, you can have a wider nasal aperture from birth.
