As we all know, recently Chat Control was finally passed. This was not any cut down version like we saw earlier, but rather something the parliament members kept pushing. Most of the parliament members who were against chat control are on vacation which means they needed way less votes to achieve a majority. And they did - Chat Control is now passed and it is exactly the way it was proposed originally with very minor differences.

The passed law would allow the EU to "tell" companies to start scanning your messages "voluntarily". It is still completely unknown to every European as to whether old messages will also be scanned - almost likely they will.

Someone might say "But the government wouldn't do that", oh yes they absolutely would. The EU is already known for corruption and back door deals, there's literally no point to this union. The EU constantly criticized China for mass surveillance... yet now they're doing it too.

What do you think? Is your career fucked? What has your OPSEC been like in the past? Would they be able to, with artificial intelligence, draw lines from your online identity to your real life identity?

I seriously doubt life here will remain normal at all if it's already declining, this is exactly why I am seriously considering geomaxxing to Asia where I can vanish, find myself an asian and live life

Either I am around my friends while under mass surveillance or under none and just far away from them living with my asian
I think I'll always have to choose geomaxxing even if it meant going away from people I know and have spent years of my life with

they will find you extremely easily everyones ip is public no matter what you do or where you go

if they want to track you down and take any sort of actions against you they will

anyways, its always been like this its nothing new i guess this was just passed so that theres 1 less loophole to go through in court if they want you to be prosecuted

IPs are public yes but in most cases they aren't so easily tied to your identity, police would need a warrant to force the ISP to spit out contract identities. Best if it's prepaid.

But no, this is new, they will enforce scanning on both the server (app servers) and client (app you use) level. Since everyone has horrible opsec with just a few posts and pattern recognition it's easy to build a digital fingerprint (already exists jfl) and then trace people while warrants are printed out
