Excalibur (1981) is perhaps the best 'fantasy' film ever made

Absolutely stunning visuals, a fantastic script and the musical score is excellent.

I honestly wish I found out about this film as a child (though it does have nude scenes). I think I would have been a very different person had I seen it back then.

It's fucking brilliant.

I have and I honestly think it is. Theres only a few in my mind that I think could top it overall. Every example I think of has flaws that this movie doesn't have.

It also really depends on genre, I can't really compare the best action movie with this or the best sci-fi movie with this. I think I might have been too harsh to say it's the best film thats ever been made but Its in my top 5 at least and certainly the best fantasy movie I have ever seen.
