Expected facial changes from MARPE + Invisalign (Class III, narrow palate)?

Hey everyone,

I’m 18 and about to start orthodontic treatment, and I’d like some honest opinions on how this might affect my facial aesthetics (especially at rest, not just smiling).

Diagnosis:

• Class III tendency
• Narrow maxilla (narrow palate)
• Dental crowding (upper and lower)
• Posterior crossbite
• Some overbite
• Mouth breathing at night + poor tongue posture (can’t fully rest tongue on palate)

Treatment plan:

• MARPE expansion for ~2 months
• Then Invisalign to align teeth and fix the bite

My concerns are mainly about looks, not just function:

1. Will expanding the maxilla improve midface support (cheekbones / under-eye area)?
2. Will my jaw look wider?
3. Is it realistic to expect any counterclockwise (CCW) rotation of the mandible from this kind of treatment alone?
4. Could my resting face look more “balanced” or less tense after correcting the bite and airway issues?
5. Will lip posture improve (better lip seal at rest)?
6. Overall, do cases like this usually lead to noticeable aesthetic improvement, or is it mostly subtle?

Any input (especially from people who had MARPE or similar cases) would be appreciated.

expanding makes cheekbones pop out more, facemask does give a little forward growth not much tho but remember it is mainly for the airways.

and btw I would like to hear how your treating going after u start since i am looking into. doing the same thing

i will get the marpe in about a month, wich is about 4k including the invisalign, i have a narrow palate that makes me not being able to have right tongue posture and i rest very bad at night because i mouth breath, i would like to know if the treatment will give me a wide jaw or at least improve the width.
