Because of your daily self-perception in the mirror, your mind becomes familiar with it and identifies that image as the real you.

The reason why you appear weird in the back camera or inverted filter is due to your mind not being accustomed to that image.

To prove this, look at this picture, and make yourself familiar to this image as familiar as possible and then invert it.

After inverting this image, it will look weird, and you'll start to notice the asymmetries hiding, but then goes away slowly as ur brain starts to familiarize with it again.
