I've been going to the gym for 8 months now and since the year started i've been cutting out all sugar and making sure i get enough sleep yet i dont see any progress in fat loss. Are there any ways to speed up the fat loss process or should i just keep doing what im doing?

The fastest way is to eat as little as possible and burn as much calories as u can (cardio)

Weigh yourself each morning and record the value, do it over a few weeks and observe the trend. You can trust this far more than what you see in the mirror. Adjust caloric intake and expenditure based on what you see in the data
