Yeah, it sucks to have to swallow your pride and be the bigger man at times.

I remember this one time some drunk dude was coming my way and blocking my path deliberately whilst mumbling some incoherent shit. I thought about retaliating since he pissed me off but I just shoved him aside and carried on.
I was initially pissed off at myself for not punching him but then I realised I did the smart thing because had I punched him, his drunk ass would have probably fallen head-first on the pavement and could have landed me in some serious trouble.

With that being said though, criminal records are a bit like uni degrees, they only matter if you're an employee. If you work for yourself there's little to worry about.
