The combination of dermarolling and minoxidil has been shown in various studies to increase hair regrowth 4-fold when compared to minox-only treatments.

(1) Hair counts – The mean change in hair count at week 12 was significantly greater for the Microneedling group compared to the Minoxidil group (91.4 vs 22.2 respectively). (2) Investigator evaluation – Forty patients in Microneedling group had +2 to +3 response on 7-point visual analogue scale, while none showed the same response in the Minoxidil group. (3) Patient evaluation – In the Microneedling group, 41 (82%) patients reported more than 50% improvement versus only 2 (4.5%) patients in the Minoxidil group. Unsatisfied patients to conventional therapy for AGA got good response with Microneedling treatment.

Pretty insane results for 12 weeks ngl.

The theory behind this is that the wounds created by microneedling enhance the absorption of topical minoxidil in the scalp thus resulting in the increased hair regrowth. This could be a viable alternative to those averse to the side effects of fin such as limp dick and kidney damage.

As you age, your hair will become more weak to DHT, so your rate of balding becomes faster.

Yes this does cause regrowth, but doesn't stop the underlying issue, like Fin or Duta does. You need a DHT blocker to properly slow it.

Too much work bro. I’d rather just pop a pill and forget about it.

Dermarolling you only need to do weekly or fortnightly for 30 mins. Applying topical minox daily isn't a big deal.

Minoxidil only stimulates new hair growth. Your real hair will still be falling. Dht also binds to the receptor before dermarolling can matter. Dermarolling also stretches the pores and a dermapen is much more optimal. Basically what Im saying here is until you can stop the ROOT cause of your hairloss, your hair will continue to fall. Even finasteride is cope over time because DHT is not the only androgen that causes hair loss.

How many root causes are there for mpb?
I thought it's either dht sensitivity or scalp tension

there's 9 evidence-based treatments.... no one said fin/duta was the only option lmfao

just pop fin bro

All androgens cause hair loss to an extent. DHT hits the hardest, but Testosterone still causes hair loss.

interesting.. maybe that's why some people try to lower their free circulating T to battle hair loss.

minoxidil made my hairline go from nw 1.5 to nw 0

just do RU, min, fin and dermarolling, literally hits the most important pathways.

Have we found any decent proof gains from minoxidil are/can be permanent? I guess IE the hair reaches terminal phase

The mechanism of hair loss and hair loss prevention is poorly understood, keto for example will boost the growth of non androgen sensitive hair follicles in mice.
Minox hairs are probably dependent on you using minox for the rest of your life and the drug not losing it's "potency", which is unlikely, but it will certainly buy you time, you probably care much less about going bald in your 40 than in your 20s. It doesn't work for everyone also.
I would rather hair transplant or wigmax than bomb my hormones with fin/dur.
I would use everything topical, RU, maybe topical fin (don't know about this), and dermarolling, keto, etc. So you attack the hairloss on all the fronts.
