2 years back i had secured a summer internship at banking firm and one thing i couldn't help but notice was how miserable all the finance guys looked tbh I was in the engineering department so regular 40 hours a week timings for us and work was generally interesting. I liked how the finance and banking department looked . Always in suits, looking very put together and formal and professional while in engineering department not a single person cared what you wore and barely any social interactions with people outside of your team while the finance guys were 24/7 on face time calls. They looked like they were doing something very important but in reality were just doing some Presentation on PowerPoint or Excel or whatever. All the time. Very repetitive boring work and also 80 hours a week. Some of them even took showers in the office which I didn't even know was a thing until then and the funny part is that the junior engineers made about as much money as them slightly higher actually but their salary cap and bonuses was much higher than the MD of engineering
