Whole family are doctors and they are pressuring me to apply. Finance mogs but requires luck and connections. Medicine is safer option and is guaranteed to make it if you work hard what do I pick? I only want to go into finance because it’s glamorous.

I’m in the UK
If you aren't that great at school and don't think you can get into a target uni like Oxbridge, Imperial, LSE or even a semi target like Warwick, UCL ect.. I wouldn't recommend finance

Whereas with medicine you can go to any uni and be fine and be guaranteed a job.

Are you in uni yet? What schools do you think you can get into?

That's not the case for the brownies, all thanks to affirmative action quotas.

Brown coloured people are given a leg up because of the way they were born. Imagine a white working class guy trying to get into Oxford? Not a chance in hell.

Women and coloured people are considered muh disadvantaged.

I literally can't apply for any supercurricular programmes for my uni applications it's so insane.

Like work experience programmes, insight events and even online webinars are restricted to either black women, pakistanis or bangladeshis.

It's crazy

If you came from a wealthy background, they'd let you in. The problem is with these mentally ill upperclass freaks who see browns as superior to their own lower class countrymen.

I don't think wealthy people are inherently advantaged anymore.

You can't buy yourself into Oxbridge anymore

You might receive better education and opportunities but that's about it

They are because they more than likely have a lot of social capital.

I’m applying for UCL Bsc stats econ and finance. My stats are not good enough for LSE and warwick is a shithole. Is UCL good enough i’m really worried I get fucked and end up unemployed that’s what my family is saying because it muh not guaranteed

Medicine all the way. Finance is only good if you can get into some super lucrative job like investment banking.
Even then, you only have status in very niche circles who are already in finance.
In the real world, doctor gets way more respect it’s not even funny.
Doctor mogs

Yeah UCL is on par with warwick

But you’ll have to do more stuff outside of ur degree to stand out

Its a semi target for investment banking
