People always say they'll start finasteride when they "see more loss," but that is literally the worst approach. Hair follicles miniaturize permanently after enough DHT exposure, and once a follicle is dead, no drug will revive it. Fin works best as a preventive measure, not as a regrowth tool. Early intervention locks in existing hair. Even if you aren’t seeing obvious recession yet, if you have a strong family history, it’s smart to get on it early. Side effects are often overblown online. Real rates are very low, and most resolve if you stop or reduce dosage. Always start with 1 mg/day, and if you're scared, you can even do 0.5 mg. Long-term, it’s the most cost-effective and powerful move for hair loss prevention.

Took it for almost 2 years(june 2021 to feb 2023), had terrible horrendous side effects. Face bloated, hormonal unbalance, stress, severe panic attacks, gained 15kg, having same lifestyle, horrible dark circles that still have to this day. After quitting it everything came back to normal. I was working out while on eat, barely eating and was still gaining weight. This shit fucks up your hormones, be careful, playing with hormones is a dangerous game. I'm not fear monggering, if you dont have sides but have great results, great for you. I had great results but horrible sides as well. For now at 25 i'm on saw palmetto and pumpkin seed oil and will probably add minoxidil(diffuse thinner)
