Ik the only way fixing it is at the dentist. But is there anything I could do to make it less worse?

Reducing inflammation probably.
But your best bet is to visit an orthodontist. There could be a variety of reasons that you have it; a crossbite, narrow palate, chronic inflammation in the area, etc., could be why you have it.

I'm assuming your TMJD is also unilateral?
I have unilateral TMJD too, I'll be visiting my orthodontist for MSE + fixing my bite issue soon.
