Flaky skin from moisturiser

My skin gets flaky whenever i use a moisturiser. Ive tried two moisturisers now. Is there a way for me to know which moisturisers will work well for me or do i just have to buy a bunch of them until i find a good one?

Pick a moisturizer from his list that matches your skin type

That's weird. Moisturizer should actually do the opposite, that is hydrate the skin so it doesn't peel and looks red and flaky.

What brand do you use? I use CeraVe for dry/ extra dry skin and it has helped me in getting rid of the redness and flakiness I got from tretinoin. I should point out that my skin is extremely sensitive.
