Forskolin may have some affects on bone growth hypothetically. Forskolin is one of the few compounds that directly activates adenylate cyclase increasing intercellular cAMP. Since cAMP functions as a messenger is many tissues it may increase bone growth .cAMp signalling in involved in regulating chondrocyte behaviour including proliferation. cAMP also utilizes pathways such as PTH and TSH which are essential hormones during bone development. There may also be some indirect interactions with Growth hormone and igf-1 and oesteoblasts and oesteoclasts are also regulated by cAMP sensitive pathways. Therefore cAMP signalling may affect bone formation and remodelling. Im not sure bcz there arent alot of clinical trials.
