HOW FUOTY WORKS

Your core goal: Pass qualifiers, never lose an elimination match, win first place.

FUOTY is divided into two main phases: a long qualification round to narrow the field, followed by fast-paced elimination matches.

Qualification Round
During the qualification round, people may submit up to three votes for other users. There are rules as to how you must vote, which will be discussed later.
Users may campaign, message and proselytize other users to vote for them. Votes are only to be submitted in this thread and on the form provided below. It's important to copy this link so people can come here and vote for you.

Qualification Round Voting closes on December 21st, 2025 @ 09:00 EST (9am EST), and the top 16 users with the most verified votes advance to the elimination matches.

In the event where user #16 and #17 have the same amount of votes, the user with the most reputation points will advance.

Elimination Matches
The top 16 most voted users will be declared, put into brackets at random, and the matches and their dates will be announced on December 22, 2025 @ 09:00 EST (9am EST) in a thread. Elimination matches start on December 23, 2025 @ 09:00 EST (9am EST)

During an elimination round, users have exactly 24 hours to vote. After 24 hours, the poll closes forever. Participants and their allies must focus on accruing as many votes as possible and dominate the other user (getting more votes) to proceed to the next round. Draws are broken via whoever has the most reputation points. Voters can change their vote during the 24-hour time period, and votes are visible to everyone. This process repeats until the finals are completed. There are rules for voting here too, and they will be posted in the thread for every match.

Voting Rules

Universal Rules (Applies throughout the tournament)

Rule	Description	Enforcement Action	Rationale
Minimum Account Age	Users who are greycels (less than 500 posts) or have joined less than 30 days prior to the start of the tournament (Dec 14, 2025) are forbidden from casting votes. This means you must have joined no later than November 14, 2025 and not be a greycel to vote.	Vote Voided. If they vote, their votes will be counted as non-existent.	To totally eliminate the possibility of alternative account (alt) participation and ensure only established users influence the outcome.
No Self-Voting	Users are strictly forbidden from nominating or voting for themselves in any round of the tournament.	Vote Voided. If they vote, their votes will be counted as non-existent.	Prevents users from giving themselves a low-cost advantage.
Reputation as Tie-Breaker	In the event of a tie in the final vote count of any Qualification or Elimination Round, the user with the greater number of official Reputation Points (as displayed on their profile) will advance to the next stage or be granted the higher rank.	Immediate Promotion. The user with the greater amount of reputation points will be given priority.	Provides a neutral and objective measure of forum standing to resolve ties.
No Banned Users	Any user who is banned before the tournament, or banned by the hosts, moderators, or administrators during the tournament (outside of self-bans, and temporary bans spanning no more than 1 week, within reason) will be kicked out, and other participants will be given immediate priority within the given context. We are willing to delay matches to listen to put users on trial if it's plausible or there is strong evidence the user is innocent.	User dropped from the tournament.Votes voided. The user will no longer be able to compete for the year, or for life, depending on the offense.	Misbehaving users should not be allowed the opportunity to participate in FUOTY, as they can compromise the integrity of the tournament.
Tournament Ban	Any of the hosts are able to, at their discretion, ban a user from the tournament for a year or for life if they are caught partaking in serious offenses such as using alternative accounts or emails, impersonation, or other forms of major cheating. The host must contact the user they banned with the reason why they have banned them with strong evidence supporting it.	User warned, banned for a year or for life. Depending on the offense	Rules are to be followed to preserve the integrity of the tournament.
Tournament Ban Appeal	Any of the hosts are able to, at their discretion, unban a user from the tournament for a year or for life if the user demonstrates strong evidence proving they were wrongfully banned. The user must contact the host who banned them with the reason why they have been banned with strong evidence supporting it.	User forgiven. After trial, they will be reinstated into the context they were in before.	An innocent man is an innocent man.

Vote Integrity	A ballot must contain valid, non-self votes. If a vote is cast for a non-existent or banned user, that ballot is void, and they will have to resubmit the vote.
Deadline Enforcement	Votes submitted via the Google Form after the official deadline of [DECEMBER 21, 2025 @ 09:00 EST] will be automatically rejected by the system and will not be recorded, no matter what.
Vote Rejection	Any of the hosts are able to, at their discretion, unverify and reject a ballot during the elimination rounds if the user is caught not following the rules. The host must contact the user they unverified with the reason why their vote has been unverified with strong evidence supporting it.
Vote Reinstatement	Any of the hosts are able to, at their discretion, reverify a ballot during the elimination rounds if the user demonstrates evidence proving they followed all rules. The user must contact the host who unverified their vote with the reason why their vote has been unverified with strong evidence supporting it.
Verification Priority	Only verified votes are counted.
Perfect spelling is mandatory	You can not make typos on your username or your votes. If someone is named @xxx234 on Looksmax, you must insert the user (whether it's you or your vote) exactly as it's written on Looksmax, with the @ in front of it. This is because the system can not distinguish between @xxx234 and @XXX234, and will treat them as different people and the person won't be able to get their vote. Imperfect spelling ballots will be voided. You will have to resubmit the vote.

No Duplicate Nominees	A single ballot must not contain the same nominee multiple times. This is enforced for all 3 vote slots.	Vote Voided. Their entire ballot is rejected and unverified. You will have to resubmit the vote.	Maintains fairness and prevents ballot stuffing for one candidate.
Verification Content Match	The verification post in the official thread must exactly match the username of the form submission and the content (usernames) of the votes cast.	Vote Voided. Rejected during the automated or manual verification sweep. You will have to resubmit it, and you could get in trouble.	Guarantees ballot integrity against fraudulent posts.
Pledge Requirement	The voter must explicitly affirm on the form that they have read and agree to all tournament rules. Failure to do so results in instant rejection.	Vote Voided. Rejected instantly upon form submission. You will have to resubmit the vote.	Ensures accountability and informed consent to the rules.
Only Latest Ballot Counts	The automated system counts only the latest, fully verified ballot submitted by any given voter. All previous submissions, even if verified, are overridden. FUOTY is divided into two main phases: a long qualification round to narrow the field, followed by fast-paced elimination matches.

Qualification Round
During the qualification round, people may submit up to three votes for other users. There are rules as to how you must vote, which will be discussed later.
Users may campaign, message and proselytize other users to vote for them. Votes are only to be submitted in this thread and on the form provided below. It's important to copy this link so people can come here and vote for you.

Qualification Round Voting closes on December 21st, 2025 @ 09:00 EST (9am EST), and the top 16 users with the most verified votes advance to the elimination matches.

In the event where user #16 and #17 have the same amount of votes, the user with the most reputation points will advance.

Elimination Matches
The top 16 most voted users will be declared, put into brackets at random, and the matches and their dates will be announced on December 22, 2025 @ 09:00 EST (9am EST) in a thread. Elimination matches start on December 23, 2025 @ 09:00 EST (9am EST)

During an elimination round, users have exactly 24 hours to vote. After 24 hours, the poll closes forever. Participants and their allies must focus on accruing as many votes as possible and dominate the other user (getting more votes) to proceed to the next round. Draws are broken via whoever has the most reputation points. Voters can change their vote during the 24-hour time period, and votes are visible to everyone. This process repeats until the finals are completed. There are rules for voting here too, and they will be posted in the thread for every match.

Universal Rules (Applies throughout the tournament)

Rule	Description	Enforcement Action	Rationale
Minimum Account Age	Users who are greycels (less than 500 posts) or have joined less than 30 days prior to the start of the tournament (Dec 14, 2025) are forbidden from casting votes. This means you must have joined no later than November 14, 2025 and not be a greycel to vote.	Vote Voided. If they vote, their votes will be counted as non-existent.	To totally eliminate the possibility of alternative account (alt) participation and ensure only established users influence the outcome.
No Self-Voting	Users are strictly forbidden from nominating or voting for themselves in any round of the tournament.	Vote Voided. If they vote, their votes will be counted as non-existent.	Prevents users from giving themselves a low-cost advantage.
Reputation as Tie-Breaker	In the event of a tie in the final vote count of any Qualification or Elimination Round, the user with the greater number of official Reputation Points (as displayed on their profile) will advance to the next stage or be granted the higher rank.	Immediate Promotion. The user with the greater amount of reputation points will be given priority.	Provides a neutral and objective measure of forum standing to resolve ties.
No Banned Users	Any user who is banned before the tournament, or banned by the hosts, moderators, or administrators during the tournament (outside of self-bans, and temporary bans spanning no more than 1 week, within reason) will be kicked out, and other participants will be given immediate priority within the given context. We are willing to delay matches to listen to put users on trial if it's plausible or there is strong evidence the user is innocent.	User dropped from the tournament.Votes voided. The user will no longer be able to compete for the year, or for life, depending on the offense.	Misbehaving users should not be allowed the opportunity to participate in FUOTY, as they can compromise the integrity of the tournament.
Tournament Ban	Any of the hosts are able to, at their discretion, ban a user from the tournament for a year or for life if they are caught partaking in serious offenses such as using alternative accounts or emails, impersonation, or other forms of major cheating. The host must contact the user they banned with the reason why they have banned them with strong evidence supporting it.	User warned, banned for a year or for life. Depending on the offense	Rules are to be followed to preserve the integrity of the tournament.
Tournament Ban Appeal	Any of the hosts are able to, at their discretion, unban a user from the tournament for a year or for life if the user demonstrates strong evidence proving they were wrongfully banned. The user must contact the host who banned them with the reason why they have been banned with strong evidence supporting it.	User forgiven. After trial, they will be reinstated into the context they were in before.	An innocent man is an innocent man.

Vote Rejection	Any of the hosts are able to, at their discretion, unverify and reject a ballot during the elimination rounds if the user is caught not following the rules. The host must contact the user they unverified with the reason why their vote has been unverified with strong evidence supporting it.
Vote Reinstatement	Any of the hosts are able to, at their discretion, reverify a ballot during the elimination rounds if the user demonstrates evidence proving they followed all rules. The user must contact the host who unverified their vote with the reason why their vote has been unverified with strong evidence supporting it.
Verification Priority	Only verified votes are counted.
Perfect spelling is mandatory	You can not make typos on your username or your votes. If someone is named @xxx234 on Looksmax, you must insert the user (whether it's you or your vote) exactly as it's written on Looksmax, with the @ in front of it. This is because the system can not distinguish between @xxx234 and @XXX234, and will treat them as different people and the person won't be able to get their vote. Imperfect spelling ballots will be voided. You will have to resubmit the vote.

No Duplicate Nominees	A single ballot must not contain the same nominee multiple times. This is enforced for all 3 vote slots.	Vote Voided. Their entire ballot is rejected and unverified. You will have to resubmit the vote.	Maintains fairness and prevents ballot stuffing for one candidate.
Verification Content Match	The verification post in the official thread must exactly match the username of the form submission and the content (usernames) of the votes cast.	Vote Voided. Rejected during the automated or manual verification sweep. You will have to resubmit it, and you could get in trouble.	Guarantees ballot integrity against fraudulent posts.
Pledge Requirement	The voter must explicitly affirm on the form that they have read and agree to all tournament rules. Failure to do so results in instant rejection.	Vote Voided. Rejected instantly upon form submission. You will have to resubmit the vote.	Ensures accountability and informed consent to the rules.
Only Latest Ballot Counts	The automated system counts only the latest, fully verified ballot submitted by any given voter. All previous submissions, even if verified, are overridden.	Previous Vote Discarded. Only the most recent submission timestamp is used for counting.	Allows voters to correct mistakes or change their minds during the voting period.
Full Ballot Bonus	A user who submits a fully valid ballot containing exactly three unique votes receives a bonus of +1 point added to their own tally (self-vote) in the Qualification Round.	+1 Point Added. System logic applies the bonus point to the voter's score.	Incentivizes voters to engage fully with the nomination process.
Host Discretion on Error Messages	Hosts may write custom error messages on voting submissions at their discretion.	Host(s) change the error message. This displays why their vote was discarded.	Tells users why their votes were invalid. They can learn from that.
