Genio / rhino / BFR all in one surgery - how long for numbness to go away.

Been a lurker here for some time and was always unhappy with how fat my face looked despite being super skinny (6’2, 145lbs). Decided to take the plunge and do these 3 surgeries all in one go (added rhino because my nose had a dorsal hump but this wasn’t my priority).

Literally had my surgery this morning and fuck the recovery has been killer. The genio hurts like a bitch saw some people on here saying it’s pretty tame but the numbness of my lower lip is killing me can eat or even drink anything without looking like a spastic and spilling it everywhere. I can barely even talk without sounding like a full blown retard and it hurts like hell to move my jaw. If anyone has had genioplasty before how long until the numbness subsides? Right now can feel my top lip and the sides of my bottom lip but the middle part of my bottom lip has no sensation at all. Idk how I will go back to work or function socially like this.

Also the rhinoplasty hurts quite a bit too but not as bad as the Genio. My surgeon used ultrasonic technique but he mentioned I had a really strong bone for my dorsal hump so I’m guessing that’s why it hurting so bad but idk.

Ngl before this surgery I was so motivated to change my appearance but after how fucked this recovery is I’m lowkey regretting it lol. I don’t even care an out the results right now (looks not bad from what I can see so far) but I just want the pain gone. give it sometime you will feel a lot better in 2 weeks personally the first week was by far the worst and I was feeling pretty good again after week 3 but I also regretted it in the first few days because I underestimated how shitty you feel

Can’t tell you much about the numbness tho since I didn’t have a genio but as far as I know it normally fades within a reasonable time

Idk how I will go back to work or function socially like this.

What surgery did you get? I’m only on day 1 after surgery and this feels like hell man.

I flew 13 hours to get this surgery lol and my flight back is on day 8 post op… and I go back to work day 10. Feel like I’m fucked

Just a rhino but a lot had to be done so the swelling was awful

You will feel better by then but if I were you I’d try to get a few more days at home to rest

Do you have access to a hilotherm? Or anything else that will help you with your recovery?

But also don’t stress it the difference from now till in 10 days is huge try to relax and focus on recovery the unnecessary stress won’t help you
