Hey guys my genioplasty consultation at children’s hospital is tomorrow and I’m wondering if I can ask for a bimax or bsso because of my extreme recession. Here are my photos let me know what you think.

No. You can get 12mm advancement no grafts. If it starts reaching 14-15mm or more then yes bone grafting is done.

Update: All went well, he said atleast 6mm advancement and he will be taking my CT scans soon to see if I qualify for a bimax. He said my teeth are perfectly aligned its just my chin that is recessed so he agreed to perform a genioplasty. I will try to ask for a 10-12mm advancement and hoping I can get a sleep study done for the possibility of a bimax. Either way I will be getting a genioplasty this summer at the very least

Update: All went well, he said atleast 6mm advancement and he will be taking my CT scans soon to see if I qualify for a bimax. He said my teeth are perfectly aligned its just my chin that is recessed so he agreed to perform a genioplasty. This obviously needs jaw surgery and even a 14mm genioplasty will fall short of a full cosmetic correction
