German chancellor Olaf Scholz announced yesterday that Germany will spend 100 BILLION EUROS in one year to rebuild the military and that it will from now on spend every year more than 2% of the GDP for the military (it was about 1% until now). The Bundeswehr will be modernized completely. Germany will become the country with the third-largest military budget in the world after the U.S. and China, with a considerable gap to the fourth, India.

Among all, we will buy F35 jets that are able to carry nuclear bombs (there are American nuclear bombs stationed in Germany, we have a right to use them in a case of emergency).

The decision was taken unanimously in the Bundestag (the German parliament). There are no parties anymore, only Germans. Chancellor Scholz said Germany needs to be able to defend its freedom and democracy and condemned warmonger Putin and his war against the Ukraine.

On top of that, Germany will build new infrastructure for its energy supply, meaning we will aim to become energy-independent from Russia. Both decisions were annonced yesterday, making it a historical day for Germany.

Weimar is not counted, just as the Deutscher Bund (1815-1866), because they were "transitional states" in the grand scheme of history. The communist German Democratic Republic (1949-1990) isn't counted either.

Sending thousand of German soldiers in some new obscure middle eastern war because Burgers told them so? , do you have any idea how cucked this is? And the dependent part is dumb, gas is the safest energy source there is no debate around this and its cheap, there is no reason that being dependent on Russia for energy is somehow worse then sending Germans to die on US demand

EVERY country should have a functioning military. Germany will be able to defend itself, no one wants to go to Middle East.

It's stupid to be dependent form Russian gas, the Russians can use it as political tool, Medvedev already said if we sanction Russia we wil have to pay higher prices.
