You need IQ, conscientiousness, stress tolerance, high achievements and a sort of unique characteristic to where a firm will think "this guy is gonna make us a shit load of money in the long run". Height really helps, so do looks but in the corporate world you need it all.

The onboarding process for actual high paying jobs is a big judgement call. The ChatGPT-esque CVs "Im muh hard working, muh communicating in a team" are just overlooked. You need some sort of achievement driven CV that stands out.

Think about your application. It's one of 100s - they won't see all. After that 3 stages of interviews, verbal and numerical reasoning tests and a presentation

You're right - I got lucky. In UK I did a degree in humanities (won't go into detail). Studied at like a top 30 uni, then did masters at an Oxbridge alternative.

Even then spent nearly 2 years NEET did temp jobs and short term jobs in between. I only got my current job through a referral - if my last contact at my job never referred me it would've been ovER. I was interviewed by two foods, as soon as I mentioned I got along with the Chad that referred me they were interested JFL.

Nepotism is real. The only social media I have in fact is LinkedIn JFL. Even still I'm fucked as I'm looking to get into another sector but lack enough contacts in it.

I'm lucky I work from home mostly. Call me pampered, but I honestly can't see myself leaving for another job where I would have to go into the office 5x a week. Fuck that. A 5k yearly pay cut would be worth it as you'll get 2 hours of your life back via commuting + travel expenses saved.
