Getting acne on tretinoin

I started getting acne on tretinoin since yesterday. I've been applying 0.05% strength every other day for 1.5 weeks now.

From what I read online this is my body purging impurities under the skin and that after a few weeks of this my skin will be better than ever.

Can someone who's used Tretinoin tell me I'd this is true? Also I'm using way more than the pea sized amount they recommend for the entire face. I probably use 6 peas worth every time.

How bad is that? Am I damaging my skin? I'll immediately start using less.

officially retarded to be honest id just stop tretinoin for a couple days then start using the normal amount

Thats a good sign , the drug is flushing all the shit that’s underneath your skin . Try applying only 3x a week and moisturize more . I would get a OTC clindamaclyin phosphate as this magically kills any acne over night . Just ride it out brother , your skin will look amazing when it’s all done

I apply tret every night but 5 min after I put a moisturizer on top

Also, I was on accutane before so I don't really remember getting acne before with tret.

What I can say is that even after accutane, if I stop tret for a week or something, I am going to break out (very slightly, but still).
