I had a date with someone yesterday and it went pretty bad, for context I have never edited my photos or photoshopped or used filters on my photos ever. I do find good lighting that I think looks good on my face though and do try to look at least good, which I think everyone does….

I went on the date and she picked me up as she insisted she wanted to, so I was fine with it. We drive to a random store and she randomly says after 10 minutes of the drive “you don’t look like your pictures” and at that moment I started tweaking out because I have never been told that before and I automatically just assumed she was essentially saying I was sub5 garbage so I instantly told her to take me home, she tried to redact what she said after i told her to take me home and she said “no no no, I don’t mean it in a bad way” but I still told her to take me home as it just ruined the entire date with her.

Probably my worst date ever, i still don’t know what she meant by that- but i will safely assume it was bad. I do get approached by girls almost constantly and have never been told anything like that before from people I’ve met from online.

I’m curious if anyone else here has had something like this happen to them? I don’t think there is anything wrong with using good lighting?…

The consequences of angle frauding
The reason it’s so confusing to me is because out of all the dates I’ve been on, I’ve never had someone say anything about me looking different and they have always wanted a second date. I’m going to guess my side profile is cooked since I never showed it on my profile… but then again I don’t think a lot of people do…

Brutal.
In a way it's better to look worse in pics than IRL.

Almost felt bad for you before reading this
That was just context to show why I was confused, hence my question at the bottom of the post….

Absolutely not, it was terrible from the beginning when she said she wanted to pick me up ….

u have to have some degree of self respect
I guess but if she immediately redacts that means you might still be able to close

But idk OP's close rate so maybe that's not worth the risk for him

Yeah, IMO OP overreacted a bit. Remember you have to inhib your ego when dealing with women. Can't let what they say affect you emotionally.

if she likes you she will carefully choose her words

problem is that 2/3 of the things they say are lies or half truths

like Marc Schiller said you can gauge how someone feels internally from the outside meaning even in lies truth remains existent

I honestly think that she was just a very blunt person, like almost schizo level blunt… I never showed my side profile in my profile and I think that is what destroyed it LOL. I only show my front facing so maybe it was just like a surprise and totally changed how I was perceived by her in a negative way…

brutal brah

Idk sounds like she was trying to save it and you ruined it at the end. Couldve been testing your frame

Idk I fraud a ton and nobody every says anything, I seem to get even more positive reaction after meeting a girl from online.

Like I was showing my FWB at the time some angle/light frauded pics and she said most of them were good but it was “still me” and then like 2 or 3 that she said were “too good” so I was definitely taking good pics. But I still never had anything happen

Always worried that I will look worse but never had a negative experience.

Pretty sure everyone frauds, maybe she didn’t mean it in a bad way. Or doesn’t have experience online doing that sorta thing.
