We can only act morally by following rules.
Why?
Because the nature morality is so infinitely complex, with so many different perspectives and participants, that it’s impossible for a human, so limited in intellect and knowledge and ability, to make such a judgment
So we can only act morally by following simple rules
And the rules that are at the root of humanity are the Ten Commandments
Whenever we stray away and try to make our own rules, even if they appear to work, we still create Many invisible injustices
Because we are too imperfect and flawed to be the judge
Only someone perfect, who knows everything there is to know, who accounts for every variable that could ever enter the equation, could make the right rules
