i dont think they even cover it by insurance
you get it like a genioplasty you go to a maxillary surgeon/orthodontist and u tell him that u need it

Thank you dude, I appreciate it. It took about an hour total to get it placed. Some of that was spent in prep though. I’ll have the MSE in for about 6 months total. He said he will let me know the exact amount of time once I get the diastema.

wait do they really not cover it with insurance, I could get it done before I'm even 18 because of dogshit palate and airway problems, it would be really good to not pay anything for it and have it done under my parents

When ur bite is bad because your upper arch is narrower than your lower, you have compensate by moving your lower jaw laterally to chew and this dislocate your joints. So mse fixes that by widening the upper arch.

Bro if possible you should measure your midface ratio/ IPD/ bizygomatic width before MSE and then again once your treatment is complete. Would help put a lot of speculation about this procedure to rest. Either way good luck tho
