So it appears, mechanical stimulation and/or messaging of the skin, and induction of mechanical tension in the skin,
will induce fibroblast growth and proliferation, therefore increasing skin collagen production (Tye 1 mainly).
What device could be used to replicate those effects?
TENS/EMS for facial skin mechanical stimulation/ tension?
What about tension and stretching, how can we find a way to stretch facial skin without having to manually do it (adhesive tape, others ?) ?

Mechanical stimulation induces rapid fibroblast proliferation and accelerates the early maturation of human skin substitutes
The clinical treatment of large, full-thickness skin injuries with tissue-engineered autologous dermo–epidermal skin substitutes is an emerging altern…

Mécano-Stimulation™ of the skin improves sagging score and induces beneficial functional modification of the fibroblasts: clinical, biological, and histological evaluations - PubMed
Mécano-Stimulation is a noninvasive and safe technique delivered by flaps microbeats at various frequencies, which can significantly improve the skin trophicity. Results observed with objective measurements, ie, in vitro assessments and electron microscopy, confirm the firming and restructuring...

Effects of a skin-massaging device on the ex-vivo expression of human dermis proteins and in-vivo facial wrinkles
Mechanical and geometrical cues influence cell behaviour. At the tissue level, almost all organs exhibit immediate mechanical responsiveness, in particular by increasing their stiffness in direct proportion to an applied mechanical stress. It was recently shown in cultured-cell models, in...

In vitro study of the impact of mechanical tension on the dermal fibroblast phenotype in the context of skin wound healing - PubMed
Skin wound healing is finely regulated by both matrix synthesis and degradation which are governed by dermal fibroblast activity. Actually, fibroblasts synthesize numerous extracellular matrix proteins (i.e., collagens), remodeling enzymes and their inhibitors. Moreover, they differentiate into...

Influence of mechanical stimulation on human dermal fibroblasts derived from different body sites
Mechanical stimulation is highly associated with pathogenesis of human hypertrophic scar. Although much work has focused on the influence of mechanical stress on fibroblast populations from various tissues and organs in the human body, their effects on ...
