gym brahs, do u still have squats and barbell bench in your routine?

Squats yes, barbell bench no. Fks up my shoulders way too much, not worth it imo. I can just do dumbbell and chest flies and I will have a better effect. Squats FTW though, best legs exercise

Bench press is useless. Fun but not necessary and can fuck your shoulder. I feel better gains from dumbells anyway.

We now know that free weights are completely unnecessary for maximal hypertrophy, and very very likely inferior to machines.

Deep leg presses with maximal knee flexion>barbell squat.
Smith machine bench, chest press machines>barbell bench.

Barbells are a primitive, outdated tool for hypertrophy. Only reason to use them is if they're the only equipment you have.

There’s no such thing as “exciting the muscle” , getting stronger is the best way of getting bigger as a natty

The J press is good. just do a normal bench press and then stop the barbell in the stick zone. Its a powerlifting movement but its great for everything

Bench press yes, squats no but I do steps ups wich is basically a single leg squat
 
Thinking of not doing squats as I'm doing heightmaxxing
 
Bench press messes with my shoulders if I use wide grip, shoulder width is nice

I train legs randomly and casually. Deadlift, leg press, squat, whatever I feel like on the day. My leg size is like 5% off ideal, my upper body sizes are like 15-20% off, so it makes sense.

I will go back to deadlifting eventually, I can maintain my ass gains with squats but I need my thighs to catch up a little.
