Hair loss since 15 now 19 getting on oral minoxidil and finasteride

My hairline is receding and my hair thinning due to genetics it’s honestly my biggest insecurity I’ve previously had oral finasteride but got off it due to moving wasn’t on it long enough to see results

today I got prescribed 1 mg finasteride and 2.5 mg minoxidil both oral but the dermatologist said I’m pretty much guaranteed to eventually go full bald due to genetics and these will only slow the process was my dermatologist just a complete doomer? Or am I just fucked and only delaying the inevitable has any of you been completely saved by fin and minoxidil? My doctor said to start with half the pill of minoxidil but I lowkey just wanna take the full pill I’m sure the side effects can’t be that bad

also when I was on fin previously i had pretty bad testicle pains and soreness anyone else dealt with that?

finasteride side effects are minimal, barely existent and definitely justifiable.
if you feel any just cope your way through them, it will sort out in 4-6 months.
finasteride blocks DHT related hairloss, so if it's caused by other shit it won't stop all of it.
1mg of fin is optimal, doing more is not going to be significant enough.
haven't looked into oral minoxidil though but trust the process, your derm prob knows what he's doing, gl tho
