I highly recommend this to most people ,exceptions only for norwood 0 which is somehow rare especially after the age of 30 to start a hair maintance protocol.
Minoxidil 5% topical solution is the first weapon men have against hair loss,can make hair gains if you are consistent ,like two times a day morning and night with no days off. I mean even if you go on vacations you take the minox 5% with you ,no excuses .
After 5-6 months of use you can take a lotion that contains 5% minoxidil ,0,05% tretinoin and azelaic acid . A lot of people are probably either non responders to pure minoxidil or as time passes the effects and hair gains minimising . The tret + azelaic acid will stimulate hair regrow with minoxidil .
Again after months use minoxidil 5% + lattanoprost lotion in the morning and before sleep the tret + azelaic acid + minoxidil product to stimulate some more hair growth .
Probably 1,5 year of minoxidil and anchillaries its time to pass to finasteride and i highly reccomend to use topical finasteride 0,025% + minoxidil 5% ( still fin absorbsion is existing but the side effects are less than oral version of fin )
This is only for people with some hair loss but with norwood 2 max, if you are more than 2 then oral versions work better .
Also ketoconazole 2% shampoo + ceramice hydration after works good as DHT blocker twice a week.
