Recently, a lot of people have been saying that hair doesn't matter. Now I don't know where people get this idea, and it's so easy to just see for yourself that hair matters a lot. All the proof is infront of you, even in the mirror.

Let's start with the obvious:

If hair didn't matter, salons and barbershops wouldn't be all over the world in every alley and street. Now, I know this is a super weak claim, but I just wanted to get this out of the way. I provide the concrete proof below that hair is law.

Why do people think this way? :feelsuhh:
Most of the time, this opinion comes from people whose for-you pages and instagram reels are full of top percentile faces. Models, influencers, just genetic miracles. It's obvious that the elite facial structure of these models can carry their entire look, regardless of their hairstyle. So when people see these models with mohawks :chad:, colored buzzcuts, it creates an illusion that hair doesn't matter at all.

How do hairstyles affect percieved attractiveness?
For MTNs and below, hair matters tremendously. Skull shape, small FWHR, recessed mandible, these are all things that can be either "improved" or worsened depending on how good a hairstyle is. And by improved I mean creating an illusion of the said thing being more ideal. Those who have unequal facial thirds can balance them with the appropriate hairstyle. For example, a LMTN with a big forehead can wear a fringe or bangs, and this give the illusion of a smaller forehead, which will increase his percieved attractiveness.

Now when we get higher to the HTNs and CLs, hair starts having less and less of an importance. The better your facial structure, bonemass, and appeal are, the easier it is for you to pull off unusual hairstyles. Just look at the surfer archetype. They all have messy hair, but they're lean, with blue eyes, blonde hair, prominent cheekbones, a well developed mandible and a well developed maxilla. These things are already more than enough to be able to pull of any haircut. With this, it becomes apparent as to why lots of people think nowadays that hair doesn't matter.

Time for real-life examples :smonk:
Let's first look at relatively average looking people. Keyword: RELATIVELY. So don't come at me for taking Harry Styles as an average looking person, just look at who I will compare him with later in the post.

Here's Harry Styles with his luscious, long hair:
Harry hair 3

Great appeal, harmony, and overall a good looking dude.

Now here he is WITHOUT his luscious hair:

Uhhmmm, yeah. Do you see my point now? And no, this isn't cherrypicking, I tried my hardest to get images with the most similar lightin and angles, and taken at around the same period of time.

Now, let's look at ABOVE average looking people. :feelswat:

Lorenzo Zurozolo with short hair:

G3jGlBHWMAAZQfk

He's still roaming the HHTN --> LCL, even with a bad haircut. Seriously, cover his face with your hand and just look at the haircut. :hnghn:

Lorenzo Zurozolo with long hair:

Actor lorenzo zurzolo 1295955 large

Instantly, way more appeal. Even if you're one of those who think hair doesn't matter, you can't deny that Zurzolo has way better harmony with longer hair.

Hair Is Law

I could provide many more examples, like Keanu Reeves, or Timothee Chalamet, and many more. So I hope you understod that hair matters a lot. But its significance lessens the more objectively attractive you become. Nevertheless, even if you are an Adamlite, hair does make a difference, although truly negligible.

If by now you still think that hair doesn't matter, then idk what else to tell you. :LIKE:

what i meant to say is that skin fades don't look good. even if you have extremely wide skull a little bit of volume on sides is better

I agree though, mainly hiding your neurocranium as much as possible, hair is a good halo when done right for the right people

am I right in thinking that if you have a short skill, fades are better than having volume on teh sides?
I always feel I look best with a fade, but currently trying to grow it out and see what's up

Hair matters a ton in a variety of ways. Between hair cut style facial hair grooming and basic skin care I’ve ascended a few points. Zero other changes. I joke around about lm but really I’m more of a spectator. I’m a bodybuilder looking to not age like crap and look like a low sex appeal ogre. But I actually improved a lot just from simple shit this past year. Base matters a lot. Going from dry dull skin no facial hair grooming (buzzing it extremely light stubble is best look) bad cuts bad styling to the opposite is huge. And I’d say hair carried alot of that. Relatively longer at the sides shorter at the top makes me face look more bloated and round. This really is bad if my face is fuller from being not as shredded or a bit bloated. But even leanest it still has a negative optical effect. When my hair looks worse I look worse and it’s not in my head lol. Depending how it’s styled is huge too. Sea salt spray ruffled around vs slicked back. Young guy vs man at a law firm. Different perception.
