Hair Tips for straight(ish) wavy hair?

I had between 1c + 2c hair, grew it out to the state in photo provided and it went to a curlier type, however i cut it (stupid mistake i know) and now its just not the same, any tips on how to get it back like this? (before retards say state the obvious ive already tried everything, also how did my hair go like this naturally if its always on the straighter side?)
