Hair won't grow

It's been 6 months since I had a haircut on top (always keep the sides and the back faded) and it has BARELY grown. What the hell.

Normal rate of hair growth is 1/2 an inch every month. So it should be 3 inches longer and it's definitely not.

And I've been on finasteride 1mg/day for 2.5 months, before I upped the dose to 1mg/day I had been on 1mg 4x a week (EOD) for 2.5 months as well

What should I do?

Should I start taking oral minoxidil?

Isn't the lack of growth related to my follicles being slaughtered by DHT? I do have male pattern hairloss

Isn't normalizing the rate of hair growth considered reversing hair loss tbh? Mine is definitely fucked big time

How effective is MSM at stimulating hair growth? (like minoxidil)

It makes no sense tho. You want DHT to be suppressed at all times as much as you need to keep MPB at bay

idk he told me that it helps him never lose effectiveness from fin

Oh yeah he's talking about tolerance. I'm not too worried about that, I just want to normalize my rate of hair growth

Studies are inconclusive and evidence is anecdotal, but aparently megadosing it causes hair to grow back quicker. Regardless megadosing msm has benefits for skin, so theres no loss if u invest

you gotta use a growth agonist i guess. Dermapen + Topical Minoxidil? I wouldn't really use minoxidil if I'm not losing any hair tho (risk of shedding + once you stop, hair falls out).

Did you read my OP? Ofc I suffer from hair loss. Topical minox is uncomfortable and also I've tried it in the past, didn't work

i thought u said that with the finasteride, your hair loss stopped? either way surprised that topical minox didn't work tho, did you try combining with dermapen cause the results with those are usually very impressive. i guess you can try oral minoxidil. One guy in the comments says he started taking oral minox after having taken finasteride for a while and experienced greater hair density along the hairline + temples. But with oral minox, you may get unwanted hair growth on the rest of your body.

Of course it is but I'm treating it with finasteride so it shouldn't be a problem any more
