I do recognize that we are all different and have different innate interests that carry the possibility to take us into the flow (a state where we forget about all our problems and only focus on the joy of our loved activity)
but that’s a rather special situation that does not happen that often.
When people say happiness is subjective and the luckiest people might not be happier than someone who has little but enjoys themselves, I call that a cope.
I believe being either happy or sad as your default state is pretty much your genetic quality. People who look better, who are more genetically gifted just live a happier life than those who are ugly.
That’s why when a celebrity like Maher or Mike Thurston comes up people cope so hard with their lifestyle being “shallow” or “superficial”
But the thing is, one hour of that lifestyle brings more dopamine than a stemcel’s whole life of indulging in his special interest.
We are all human and if ugly people had the opportunity to live like chads, they wouldn’t hesitate for a second taking it.
All this happiness being subjective talk is bullshit. It’s in a way similar to “degeneracy” - everyone who doesn’t get to participate in it talks of it like the biggest evil that needs to be purged, yet if they ever got the chance to experience it, they would never want to go back to their “non degenerate” life.
