Pics in a previous thread
When I was in middle school, I had camouflage orthodontics (rapid palatal expansion + class III elastics) to treat my skeletal class III malocclusion. I don't remember if my ortho ever offered orthognathic surgery as a treatment option; even if he did my parents would have surely refused.
It's most apparent from my profile view that I have significant midface deficiency. Also I only recently noticed that I have a bit of canted smile line (attached).
Should I consider orthognathic surgery?
How should I explain my situation to a doctor? (Should I consult with an ortho first or directly with an oral surgeon?)
Would appreciate any feedback, taking into consideration my pheno as an East Asian as well.
