For bone and spine elongation? Not decompression.

I researched alot about it back in the days, if you could cause microtears in your legs and then sleep in a stretched position for 8 Hours I dont see why you wouldnt grow

i tried it a few months back, pain got pretty severe after 2 months of doing it. don't really recommend unless ur desperate as fuck (attached bands to my head, feet, & lower back), fyi i'm 17, growth plates closed when i was 15.
official measurements i wrote down (same measurement system, time of day, etc) all measurements +_0.2cm
morning day 1: 174cm night day 1:173cm
morning day 30: 174.8cm night day 30: 174cm (noticed lower back pain here, took a break for a week)
resumed morning day 45: 175.3cm night day 45: 174.6cm
morning day 60: 176cm night day 60: 175.2cm
2 months later i'm at 174cm again. can confirm it goes away after approx 4 weeks. gotta maintain it. Lower back pain, joint pain in the knees, just for an extra 2cm is not worth it to me. my shoes make me 181cm jfl

this is complete bullshit. give up on ever having a scientific or data based career because you're shit at doing research

How so? Do you think bonesmashing doesnt work?
jesus christ dude? if you're even asking this question you should genuinely ropemaxx. :feelswhy::feelswhy:

do you not see the obvious lack of research in your statement? or the fact that you think microtears lead to more height...or that microtears are even possible in cartilage or bone...? or the fact that you said "i don't see a reason you shouldnt grow" at the end of that completely ridiculous statement?

what are you like 15 dude? get off of the forums and get older.

na its cope g and also sleeping like that sounds like torture

See I had great results of 300mg test e + bonesmashing so I dont give a singular fuck about your studies, I know it works for a fact and so claim many other people so another anecdoctal evidence...

you claimed it went away which means it’s purely decompression + disc strengthening. And that was a 1.2cm increase not 2. Shit. By any chance did you measure your total leg/shin length before and after ?

Did you try it

Idk I just did streches and stopped sitting like a retard. Ik it wasnt actual height growth cause my wingspan is the same
What stretches did you do?

so its just giga decompression:feelswhy:

was curious to know whether it would be helpful or not for scoliosis cases since I've a pretty severe curve and maybe stretching my spine for 8+ hours everyday for 1 year or so could give me significant results

@Mainlander do you think 2 months is enough to determine whether this works or not or should it be done for longer?

2.2cm actually, you made the mistake of selectively choosing figures lmao, atleast look at their respective counterparts instead of any number you want

you could do it for longer but i doubt anyone would be willing to go through the pain, you'll quit roughly at the same time i did.

no amount of decompression is worth the joint pain. you can barely run let alone go up and down the stairs. I don't doubt it'd continue increasing height so how about you give it a shot lmao

That’s what I did, calm your ass down. You ended up losing all that height anyway which is proof of my overall premise that it’s temporary.

I don’t think it could continue increasing height. It just decompresses slightly. There’s no mechanism in which is could drive height growth post-puberty.

post-puberty.
entire point is to decompress further, it's possible to decompress to approx 5% of your total height; astronauts in space usually reach this, which would equal approx 6+cm on my measurements, so theoretically it should be possible

achieving perma height growth post puberty is always just a day dream, might as well stick to the temp decomp gains

That’s way too much decompression, that’s not possible, even in outer space, those numbers are exaggerated for astronauts and even if they weren’t banded sleeping isn’t enough to mimic microgravity due to the gravity of earth. Theres only so much that you can decompress, maybe an inch max. But 5% of your total height is crazy reach

i'm sure its possible, might give it a second shot in the next few weeks and elongate my experiment to 4 months instead of 2

I pasted this in chatgpt and it responded this if ur interested:

That claim mixes a real phenomenon with a pretty big stretch.

Yes, there is something called spinal decompression. Over the course of a day, gravity compresses the discs in your spine, and when you lie down (especially during sleep), they rehydrate and expand a bit. That’s why people are usually a little taller in the morning than at night.

Astronauts on missions with NASA do experience more noticeable spinal lengthening in microgravity, but even then, the increase is typically around 2–5 cm total, not “5% of your height.” For someone ~170 cm tall, 5% would be 8.5 cm, which is well beyond what’s actually observed.

As for “banded sleeping” (using straps or traction to stretch yourself while you sleep), there’s no solid scientific evidence that it safely or effectively increases height—temporarily or permanently. In fact, applying prolonged traction incorrectly could irritate your spine or nerves.

The second part of what they said is closer to reality:

  • Permanent height increase after puberty is extremely unlikely without medical intervention (like surgery).
  • Temporary height changes from decompression are real, but they’re modest—usually around 1–2 cm for most people on Earth, and they reset once you’re upright and moving again.
So the idea of squeezing out an extra 6+ cm just from decompression or “banded sleeping” doesn’t hold up physiologically. It’s not just hard—it’s outside what the spine can safely or naturally do.

If you’re curious, I can break down what actually can maximize your natural height (posture, sleep, strength, etc.) without getting into risky methods.

I don’t remember if I asked you this, but did you measure your shin bones / legs length before and after ?
never been asked, haven't measured but i doubt much would change in the legs, not much cartilage or decomp gains possible there (apart from the natural variation)
