I'm from the UK and Surgeons here always look at you like you're mental for wanting something fixed for aesthetic reasons.

I was told by surgeons here that I was fine, it's not too bad and not worth a surgery, but after e-mailing a surgeon who is 'blackpilled' as it's called.. I was told my mandible and chin have a slight retrusion. I'd like my mandible/chin moved forward and the fat around that area to tighten and now I just need to understand whether to get a Sliding Genioplasty or a Bimax? money isn't a mega issue but I would prefer it to be in the U.K.

Has anyone ever seen any good results? If so do you have any surgeon recommendations here in the UK? I can't find a single decent surgeon that understands the aesthetic reasons and I can't find any good results.. most of the ones I have found from the NHS look awful.

Also, what is better for a slightly retruded mandible/chin, a bimax or a sliding genioplasty?

The UK is one of the shittest countries for plastic surgery, do not have cosmetic surgery here unless you research the surgeon properly. Apparently it also has the highest litigation rates as my last orthodontist told me.

@aut0phobic is woke on uk surgeons

Try Italian surgeons like Dr Ramieri or Dr Raffaini or Brazil (Sau Paulo)

I'm realising this, they seem completely clueless. I had one surgeon tell me some people he works with who are burned in fires as children would love my face/growth, but guilt-tripping me isn't exactly the point I'm trying to get at with surgeons, it's really strange lol.

How easy is it to travel to another country and just get something like this done? Language barriers etc? I've never travelled, so I have no idea how to even begin.

I seen that you had this done recently, I was reading your thread. Are you from Italy originally?

Is it easy getting to the hospitals after planning over skype? You just fly over, head to the clinic and then home? seems easier said than done but thinking of the picture it doesn't seem that difficult haha.

I'm in the process of my trimax, just doing the orthodontics which takes time , I am from the UK working with an Italian surgeon in italy (Dr Ramieri) everything done remotely.

@DatGuyYouLike completed his bimax

Good luck bro. Do you do the Orthodontics in UK? Also how should I contact the surgeon? My bite is fine, so I'm curious as to whether I'll just need a Sliding Genioplasty or a Bimax, trying to work out what is best for me.

You will need to stay for 3 weeks there (for a bimax), also best to have someone with you.

You may need orthodontics , I'm having it done in London.

Best to email Dr Ramieri your pics and scans and take it from there.

Also upload your scans and pics here so we can critique.

It's nice to know other people are going through the same thing, and I guess when its your life/face at risk, you want the best option possible.

I'll contact him now and see what happens, I've done a morph before and I'm happy with just my chin being moved forward, so I wonder if he'll recommend just a Genioplasty like the other surgeon did. I was recommended another name on here who said just my mandible/chin were slightly retruded, but my maxilla was fine. Do you think Bimax would be risky with that? My bite is also perfect, I've never needed orthodontics work, and I frequent the dentist every 6 months.

Tbh it's best you spend 6 months really researching everything and truly mastering it.

You should be at a point you know everything perfectly just as much as the surgeon.

Bimax is a brutal procedure.

Also you can still need braces with a good bite for a bimax if he needs to decompensate before surgery (which is what I am doing).

If it's just the chin , it will be overall simpler and no need for orthodontics or long recovery

I will do bro! I appreciate it, I'll update you on what the Dr says, I've sent him an E-mail over now. I hope he responds haha.

Bimax seems rough, but I've seen some great results from it. I'd probably not get the surgery until around July, and I've been researching since January. I'd not jump into it just incase.

This guy has a similar side profile to me, only my chin is slightly better than his, but I have the similar neck/chin fat deposit, he got just a Rhinoplasty + Genioplasty, and it looks great. I wonder if he'd have benefited from a Bimax or if the Genio on it's own might be enough?

Nice! Had you travelled before or was that your first time? How did you find the entire experience travelling to a different country?

It would be my first time travelling, but I guess it would make for a good experience. I found a Maxillofacial surgeon in London that I was talking to, and he seemed to have an understanding of the Aesthetic reasons, my only issue was he had literally no before and after, so maybe travelling will be safer, atleast they have former clients who can vouch.

Yes definitely dont go to a surgeon who's not got before afters for you.

Italy is a good place to go bro, you'll have a nice trip. Go a week before surgery if you can, if your a foodie you will enjoy it. You wont be able to eat after the surgery except soups.

I'm looking into it now bro, that is if these surgeons say I need Bimax.. if they think I just need a Genioplasty, I'll be happy to do that in the UK.

Do you mean my avi? Haha, it's James McAvoy in Atonement.

I already spoke to one blackpilled surgeon from here via e-mail, and he said my mandible/chin had slight retrusion, but my maxilla is fine. That was when I was first suggested Genioplasty, but that wouldn't fix the retruded mandible, right? I really want to move the mandible/chin forward, so I can tighten the fat I have around my neck/jaw, I'm skinny yet it won't budge.

Only good bimax results I’ve seen are from ppl with severe malocclusion, aka one jaw developed correctly but the other didn’t. So they make them match. Everyone with a normal bite who gets bimax looks the same
