No it's not 99% genes, environmental factors are play a huge part in development and just cause they didn't affect you doesn't mean it won't affect your lineage. There's a significant height difference between immigrant parents and their children born in first world countries, smoking or drinking may or may not affect your development but to say height is 99% genetic is just plain wrong.
