Healing/Preventing Illness - The Truth About Getting Sick
first thread ik formatting is horrendous @chadisbeingmade was my inspo, just dumping all of my knowledge (high iq content low effort formatting)

INTRODUCTION
Hopefully if youre on this forum, you are nuking your appetite with a GLP-1 Agonist and leanmaxxing to Mumbai, which also means you are gonna get sick a lot easier because of the calorie deficit and weakened immune system. IDK about everyone else but id rather have two broken legs than a fever. Aside from it being a seemingly unavoidable looksmin (well until this thread), it also just fucking sucks and you cant get much done but i know you all know this. So this thread is a comprehensive guide on how to prevent sickness and treating it if you already are.

How much of a difference does getting sick really make?
YES BEING SICK IS A LOOKSMIN. During any point in a cut (or any looksmax that relies on consistency for that matter), getting sick is going to essentially halt your progress and maybe even reverse it.

THE BASICS
I shouldn't have to even mention this part, but good hygiene, 8-10 hours sleep, nutritious diet, wearing layers when its cold, not going in the cold with wet hair, staying hydrated etc. are obviously ways to not get sick/prevent sickness.

THYROIDMAXXING
What is the Thyroid?
The thyroid is a gland in your neck that regulates countless bodily functions, including the immune system. The thyroid and the immune system have a bidirectional relationship: the thyroid regulates immune responses, and the immune system can attack the thyroid. Thyroid hormones affect immune cells like macrophages, neutrophils, and natural killer cells, influencing functions such as cell proliferation, migration, and the release of cytokines.
Weak thyroid=Weak immune system
Thyroid

How do we upregulate thyroid hormone especially during severe calorie deficits?
The shortest and simplest answer is we inject it. Triiodothyronine (T3) is the main hormone that your thyroid produces which allows it to regulate so many systems in your body. Efficacious dosing seems to be at around 25-50mcg per day. There are also many "natural" ways to boost your T3 production such as iodine, selenium, managing stress, not overtraining, etc but these are in my opinion a waste of time when you can just inject it.

THYMUSMAXXING
What is the Thymus?
The thymus is a gland in your upper chest that produces infection-fighting white blood cells called T-cells. After puberty, your thymus gland becomes much smaller and less efficient, but there are ways to modulate it.

How do we modulate the Thymus to produce more T-cells?
If you guessed injecting, you would be correct! This time our pharmaceutical of choice is Thymosin Alpha-1, a naturally occurring peptide made by the thymus gland. It works by stimulating the thymus gland to produce more T-cells and NK cells, which in turn helps your immune system fight infections more efficiently. Best used for acute illness rather than a preventative measure with average dosing being 1-3mg per week spread across multiple injections.

GUTMAXXING
What does your gut have to do with the immune system?
About 70% of the body’s immune cells reside in the gut, so it is essential that the gut microbiome remains optimal.

How do we optimize the gut microbiome?
Aside from a less processed and well rounded diet, supplementing glutamine, prebiotics, probiotics, Oral BPC-157 +KPV, quercetin + bromelain, chlorophyll, digestive enzymes, and collagen have all been proven to support the gut microbiome. When it comes to pharmaceuticals, Larazotide and Cathelicidin are really the only two worth your time for gut-specific benefits, but even then they are only required if you are in dire need of some sort of intervention or already have a disease that affects your gut. The supplements listed should work fine.

ANTIOXIDANTS
How do antioxidants benefit your immune system?
Adequate antioxidant intake supports immune cells and reduces chronic inflammation, which can otherwise weaken immunity. Antioxidants also help maintain a balance of free radicals, which are unstable molecules that cause oxidative stress and damage cells and are produced by your body during illness.

What are the best antioxidants?
