Alot of people get really shocked and call me retarded and an uneducated grey. Considering that a lot of people use HGH on this forum and it's incredibly normalized that this false assumption of injecting random Chinese rat piss will make them grow taller, I think it's time that people wake and realize that there is no proven way to increase final adult height in healthy adolescents.
1. How The Endocrine System Actually Works
Human growth hormone (HGH) is a hormone normally produced by the pituitary gland located at the base of the brain that influences growth, metabolism and repair throughout the body. HGH promotes growth and development of normal bone and cartilage through action on chondrocytes (cartilage cells) and osteoblasts (bone forming cells) in children and adolescents. These functions facilitate the body's normal growth process.
2. What People Get Wrong
Many people actually do research and find articles showing HGH's effect and increasing predicted height; however, they come to the wrong conclusion.
All the studies people cite use children who are already GH deficient children who cannot produce normal levels of GH due to medical conditions. Examples:
"Well what about GH treatment for people with ISS, terlound? What about them! They have no GH deficiency"
because ISS isn’t ‘normal kids with normal GH.’ that's the point you’re missing. a lot of ISS children don’t respond to their own GH–IGF-1 signaling properly even if their GH levels look normal on paper which is why it can be beneficial for those people. the treatment is based on improving a dysfunctional growth response, not giving extra hormone to an already fully healthy and regular system.
3. The Proof HGH Doesn't Work on Healthy people
GH does not induce new growth potential.
Linear growth occurs at the epiphyseal plates in long bone growth plates. The number and proliferative capacity of chondrocytes in the growth plates are dictated by the gene sequence. GH is able to stimulate proliferation and maturation of chondrocytes, but can not increase their genetically determined capacity for growth.
GH can not override genetic stature determinations.
Height is a polygenic characteristic controlled by several genes. Genetic expression does not change with the administration of GH therapy in children who are GH sufficient, nor does the genetic skeletal frame of a child's genome.
