Help about Gym

I was wondering if anyone here does Long Jump.

I used to do Athletics a few years back and I want to train again for Long Jump, I want to see how good is my starting level and how much can I improve in 1 Year and by that point know if I have any chances of going pro or not. I will start training in September since its when I go back to the city and have access to a running track with a sand pit. I will be turning 20 in 6 months so I understand that my chances are slim, but at least I would be happy to say that I tried. Dpes anyone have advice for me?(Doubt 1)

I was thinking to train Upper Body for Hypertrophy (Aesthetics) and my Lower Body for Strengh, since Hypertrophy wont be as useful for gaining leg strengh. (Doubt 2)

I appreciate if someone could help me with those two doubts.
