The reason hair looks good when it’s wet is because water breaks the hydrogen bonds inside the cortex (middle layer), making hair flexible and smooth. The bonds re-form unevenly causing those weird frizz shapes or dryness, when the cuticle lifts like in the img

Do you use a ton of heat or had any chemical treatments ? they damage the cuticle making it easy for moisture to escape

If your hair is dry, shampoo/over-shampooing is the #1 problem, only use it when you feel your scalp needs it. (sweat, buildup, dandruff, odor)

When your hair is damp (not soaking wet), apply leave-in conditioner rubbing it in your hands and smearing it evenly. This helps smooth the cuticle and slow down moisture loss while drying.

The solution would be to stop shampoo/over washing only use it when your hair gets greasy
Apply leave in-conditioner when hair's damp
if you have any split ends/breakage it could mean hair is damaged

We want that cuticle to be smooth and sealed well

Thanks but no I don’t use shampoo at all , when I was a kid it was so smooth now it’s very dry and I don’t use any products, I used leave in and it temporarily works and then stops and get very very dry tried oils and still don’t work

It means moisture stays in the shaft for a little, then it gets out leading to the dry brittle look

Good news though, I relate hard to this and you can definitely still have that hair you once used to have ^^

If you have wavy/curly hair it's more prone to frizz/dryness, I recommend getting Coconut Oil from the pharmacy or any grocery store (Extra Virgin Coconut Oil)

If you haven't tried that, it will literally save you. It penetrates the hair shaft, your hair could also be low porosity (your hair's genetics to absorb and retain the moisture)

Warm the coconut oil in a cup or a bowl with 2-3 spoonfuls of it depending on your hair length
  1. You wanna get your hair slightly damp (Not soaking wet, just slightly wet to the touch)
  2. Apply the coconut oil to your hair middles and ends (not your scalp)
  3. Wait 25-30 minutes
  4. Hop in the shower and use a shampoo (only on your scalp, and gently) and rinse
  5. Apply a hydrating/moisturizing conditioner to your hair
  6. Wait 5 mins before rinsing the conditioner
  7. Towel dry your hair gently, like patting your hair or letting the towel stay to absorb the water
  8. Use your leave-in conditioner
  9. You could use a diffuser as well to dry your hair, (Blow dryer with a nozzle or diffuser with very low heat)
If you try this I promise your hair will feel so much better, some hair masks are good too.

There's some guides on YouTube if you find it a little confusing.

Pretty similar to K18, that's also an amazing brand for repairing any damage in the hair to molecular type of levels.. (molecule)
I recommend getting a sample or a small bottle to try it out if you like it, definitely worth the try

I strongly recommend K18 still has a higher reputation, there's dozens of youtube videos of people trying it out, the result is smooth hair cuticle, bonds completely repaired.

Yeah of course
