not true. People told me shit about that before I started chewing gum a year ago. Im chewing falim daily like 3 hours a day or more and my tmj is perfectly healthy. Clenching is shit though, I agreejust chew ur foods as much as possible and eat in a caloric surplus. Dont rely on gum or clenching, you'll just get tmj

What do you think masseters are for if not for high intensity hour long chewing sessions a few times a day? Or you think cheeseburgers and chicken breasts are optimal toughness for human consumption? I dont think u understand how tmj joint problems form so ill explain. tmj problems arise when u repeatidly do the same jaw motion over and over again with a lack of variation. This is why people dont get tmj issues from eating normal foods because they are constantly changing the position of the found in their mouths and using different teeth, however with gum you often just use the same motion over and over again since it is highly tensile. This overtime could lead to tmj issues, what may work for you (as you claim u have gater jaws) will not work for everyone else. But for the overwhelming majority of people, they will be dealing with tmj issues if they chew gum for 10 hours a day. My TMJ is great actually. Maybe even improved because it doesnt click anymore. Im not saying everyone should chew for 20 hours a day, but im saying chewing gum without any additives everyday is healthy if you do it correctly. And correctly is highly individual. Just so happens that my biting force is gatorlike and modern food doesnt thrill me at all

If you look at my post history you will see that im a massive chewing advocate and rightfully so, it has ascended me hard. But I also dont just recommend people to ruin their joints. Also interested where you got the 10 hour mark from. Certainly not from me.
Really dont know what's bothering you so much, but then again I never had problems with my tmj except for the times I was figuring this shit out and legit was chewing for 10 hours a day (before realizing its unrealistic/unreasonable to keep up), so maybe youre speaking from a place of experience and I heard tmd is tough so maybe I am being more condescending than I should be. Also relate to your flair
