i think it's if he should use herbst appliance or twin block for downward growth and overbite

title? I want to know which dental appliance would be better for guiding forward growth while also correcting my overbite. Not too sure if title wasn’t clear enough

Alright.

Both herbst and twin block can enhance ccw mandible rotation and aid its natural forward growth, but there are three points to consider:
-they can only have pronounced effects during early growth stages ( up to around 14)
-they can help reduce overjet but its not effective for correcting skeletal overbite
-no effect on maxillary recession whatsoever

Between the two, herbst is more effective for growth modification

If u believe your issue is skeletal, then its better to just get the bimax at 18
