My bigonial width is 12.5-13.5cm ( average is 10.6cm, though I doubt this figure ), yet my lower teeth are crowded and my dentist said I need braces and wisdom teeth extraction. I guess that most likely my short lower jaw is the culprit ( that still isn't that bad ), but I still find it weird how I can have such a large jaw yet so crowded lower teeth and low intermolar distance ( 4cm ).
Should I get extractions and what's your take on this? If I were to get MSDO my bigonial width will only increase right? And what's your bigonial width btw?

To my knowledge, palate and gonial width aren't related.

yeah I guess the shape of the arch of my lower jaw and its length is the issue.

Nope, the average jaw isn't wide lol.

120mm isn't normal, and significanlty wider than average.

And also, I'm pretty sure that's the average not including soft tissue as well.

Soft tissue adds a lot.

palate can affect zygos but they're not related at all. imma just say that it depends on how big or how sculpted your facial bones are

I have the same exact measurements tbh. I don't feel like soft tissue ads too much width, maybe because I am pretty lean.

i measured slightly above the gonions at the point where people will actually perceive your width
i also do have some fat there

12 cm is narrow skulled cuck (like me :feelswhy:)
15 cm is where human starts

kind of?
also
I just measured there and got 132mm :feelsgah::feelsgah::feelsgah::feelsgah:

Directly on the bone, I get 115mm.

And I just checked, the average skeletal gonial width for males is 96 ± 7mm

so weird
i think they may be measuring the inner part ?
this is from where I took that measurement: https://pocketdentistry.com/mandible/

Fig. 12.1
Normal values in millimeters for upper, middle, and lower facial width in white North American adult men (ages 19 to 25) ( n = 109) and young white adult women ( n = 200). The bigonial distance (go–go) is measured from gonion (go) to gonion, which is the most lateral point of the mandibular angle close to the bony gonion. Note that the male lower face is both relatively and absolutely wider than that of the female.

I saw that study @Korea is linking too, and it seems more credible because well, it's a study. I couldn't find the source of the claims in that article. Seems professionally written though.

EDIT: 106mm, is the high end of average for skeletal width. I don't think that's average.

But a study can only measure who choses to participate, maybe they were all jaw moggers :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
